This is a 12.5 inch long Old Army Sri Tin Khukuri.
"Shri Tin" is the royal title offered to then Rana rulers who had ruled Nepal for almost 104 years. GGK reproduced it with the modern execution taking all the traditional aspects in consideration. The khukuri has an old, traditional style rat tail tang handle. It is easy to handle and razor sharp blade gives the distinctive powerful clean cuts.
Though this khukuri comes with a little longer blade, GGK has designed this blade with good ergonomics & balanced weight providing more agility during use. Old khukuris mostly had longer blades and we maintained the same tradition.
This blade was used by the Old Nepalese Army at different battles. Because of the slender design and slightly thinner spine it is easy to carry & provides more thrust upon the application of effort. This khukuri is recommended for outdoor works as the greater tip speed and less cutting resistance optimizes the blade for thinner wood with the greater ability of hacking through thin flexible brush in a way that larger khukuris aren't capable of . So this khukuri carries a significant value for the Army soldiers.
Available in traditional design scabbard two small blades namely Karda & Chakmak are also part of this kukri. Karda is the sharp small knife which is typically used for carving, digging holes, skinning animals, eating, preparing kindling, whittling wood, etc. Similarly, we have the Chakmak that is typically used for honing the blade and striking sparks for fire.
