This is a 14 inch Old Chitlange mirror shining khukuri.
Historically people of eastern region of Nepal used these type of kukri knives as a real functional weapon. These khukuris were very famous during the great wars. In 1814 warriors from Eastern region of Nepal participated in the inter states battle such as the war of Sindhuligadhi, with great dignity and pride with this khukuri on their hands.
In WWI when the Rai & Limbu warriors from Eastern region of Nepal participated in British Gurkha Army they carried this khukuri in the battle field and had numerous foes beheaded. Still today the hunchbacks of that period reign in the hearts of Nepalese and this khukuri is the identity of bravery and valor.
This khukuri can chop off 4 inches (CHAR AMAL) easily. Mostly Limbus prefer this khukuri as their cultural diaspora.(Considering the cultural and historical aspect little changes has been made in Notch (KAUDI) similar to that of sharp pointed arrows. Arrows are still used today during the festivals of Limbus.
GGK reproduced this old khukuri in the modern form with all the old geometry kept alive. The well forged razor sharp blade has the powerful cuts with the handle supporting in the balance way.The khukuri comes in traditional design scabbard with brass chhape at the tip alongwith two small knives namely Karda & Chakmak. Karda is the sharp small knife which can be used to cut small woods, dig holes, skinning out animals. Similarly, we have Chakmak that can be used for honing the blade and produce sparks for fire.
Karda and Chakmak produced by GGK are of the highest quality as they are too made from leaf spring blade compared to others serving the very purpose.
