This is a 16 inch special Old Rana Maar Khukuri (Khukuri used to behead the head from body with a single swipe).
This is a re-production from the old Rana's Maar Hanne khukuri. This type of kukri knife is used mainly in festivals to kill (behead) animals like goat, sheep, he buffaloes etc.
The hand forged razor sharp blade is sturdily built to get the work done in a one swing. However strong determination and concentration is required while using it.
This khukuri is also used to cut tree, split small logs and other small woods for household purposes. The handle is traditionally made with rings and grooves for perfect balance providing much more agility and effectiveness. The khukuri comes in well built scabbard with pot holes for Karda & Chakmak.
Karda is the sharp small knife which can be used to cut small woods, dig holes, skinning out animals etc. Similarly, the Chakmak is used for honing the blade and striking sparks from flint.
Karda and Chakmak produced by GGK are of very high quality as they are too made from leaf spring blade compared to others serving the very purpose .
