This is a 6 inch Black Panawal khukuri. “Pana” means “tang ” and “wal” means type. Thus the handle of this khukuri is of famous Panawal version where the handle pieces are glued with epoxy to the full flat tang and metal rivets are fitted together to strengthen the fixtures.
Traditionally we term this khukuri as "Aangkhola Khukuri" originated from Bhojpur some 50 years ago.
This is a full tang khukuri with sturdily built blade. The khukuri comes with well annealed razor sharp blade and has good ergonomics for power cuts. The upper belly of the blade of this khukuri gives raw iron look.
Although little heavy weight than rat tail tang it is flexible and agile. The traditional handle with rings and grooves properly fits the hands and deliver much more balance for powerful cuts.
Its shape and size is most perfect for hunting, bush craft purposes and can be used for indoor as well as outdoor works for different purposes. The khukuri comes with traditional scabbard with two potholes for Karda and Chakmak and is very portable to carry upon your necessity.
Karda is the sharp small knife typically used for carving, digging holes, skinning animals, preparing kindling, whittling wood etc. Chakmak is used for honing the blade and striking sparks for fire.
Karda and chakmak made by GGK are of high quality as made from leaf spring iron.
