However its function is appealing even today. The razor sharp blade is very ferocious for rough and wild use retaining the property of long term durability. Though heavy weight it is more agile providing more thrust and remarkable force for the acts of cutting and chopping. It is a wild chopper. The traditional wooden handle with grooves and ridges provides non slippery and sturdy grip with comfortable handling providing less tensile upon the hand. The flexibility gives the power for more hacking and stabbing so this khukuri has been the choice of many army personnel . Also it is your survival weapon with fierce looks to keep your hostiles away from you.
This khukuri can be used for defensive and outdoor purposes such as chopping woods, hacking through bushes etc.
The khukuri comes in traditional design scabbard with "brass chape" accompanied by two small knives namely Karda & Chakmak. Karda is the sharp small knife which can be used to cut small woods, dig holes, skinning out animals etc. Similarly, we have Chakmak that can be used for honing the blade and producing flints for sparks.
The wild nature of this khukuri is best suited for retaliatory purposes with your enemies never eyeing upon you.
